The history of this work is very simple. There were 6 colors left on the palette from previous work. It was a pity to throw it away and I decided to use them for a small experiment with the colors of stormy sea and autumn sunset.
I had little time, so I chose a small canvas and the impasto technique – mixing by palette knife thick pure paints directly on the dry surface of the canvas. Boldly and without drawing details. Some sections of the horizon remained white and unshaded – it seemed to me that it is well passed the glare of sunset and waves splashing.
