Paintings I love
Alfred Sisley
Un verger au printemps, By
Oil on canvas, 72 x 54 cm
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam)
This painting is more expressive than the majority of Impressionist works of the period: notice the crooked lines of the tree branches, the vehement dashes with which the grass (left) is rendered. The scene evokes a lost idyllic world.
